i picked locks when i was young. i am proud to announce that i managed to open my mom's drawer with a bobby hairpin (those black invisible ones used to keep stray strands in place) at age 10.
the worst lock ever invented is the push-button lock popularly used by students for school lockers. you're supposed to push four buttons in and push the release button beneath and if the combination is correct, it will open. the buttons pushed will protrude on the other side of the lock.
however, when the kid opens the door of his locker, the lock swings and bangs itself against the metal door. soon, the combination will develop scratch marks or the locker's paint will rub off against it. the thing is, the owner of the lock never looks behind his push-button lock to see all the evident damage.
so, if you want to pick this lock, all you have to do is look behind it and see the wear and tear to find the right combination. easy as pie.
i figured this one out myself. it was just too easy.
DON'T STEAL! IT'S NOT COOL! (I leave creepy notes like: "I just picked your lock. Change it.")
