This is how indifference and hate make a deadly mixture.
All asians do not look alike.
I don't look like the guy next to me.
I don't look like a chinese national or a malaysian or a filipino .
But...
Soon koreans and chinese and and indians and afghanis will all look the same to fear mongers.
"Brown is the new Black ": Fear has a new colour.
And its a shame , because we don't deserve it.
This aint funny .
ReplyDeleteI think they are still reeling with the shock and they are trying to take comfort that "he is not one of them". How else can they justify that the child grew up in America, that is it their educational system, medical evaluation, and social intolerance that created such a monster? When nurture fails, blame nature.
ReplyDeleteI have this to say (again, on gun control); put it into proposal to congress that ALL applications for gun licenses and gun usage training to undergo psychiatric evaluation. Without training, he wouldn't have taken that many victims. The leadership should make that decision.
ReplyDeletemy tots on gun control. ban guns.
ReplyDeletedid he get trained? i heard the building layout was such that it was virtually a death trap. he had a lot of ammo, used up 7 magazines, around 160-250 bullets. interestingly, he included a pic of 30 hollow point bullets - the exact number of dead on the second shooting. coincidence?

quite honestly, if you ask me, it was a lucky thing he used guns. the meticulous determination of this guy wouldn't have been deterred by gun control. imagine the damage if he opted for bombs instead. (c'mon. google can teach you how to make a bomb.) he was on a death mission.
the difference between american soldiers and the insurgents is this: while they are fighting to live in freedom, the insurgents are willing to die for it. how do you stop a person who has nothing to lose and everything to gain?
I've no idea. I just assume he was quite well trained.
ReplyDeleteAll true.
ReplyDeleteCanada has more guns than USA ,but in "bowling for Columbine " Micheal moore starts asking canadians if they feel like shooting anyone. They say that they dont.
It is a hilarious yet poignant scene.
USA has become a State of Fear.Fear is so well marketed by the media that they fear everyone, including themselves.
Im not saying USA is a bad country...
and as Ms.J said , gun control wont be enough.
Making a bomb is as easy as downloading a e-book version of the "Anarchists Cookbook" and following the instructions.
So , do we ban information exchange too ? One might ask.
Then who will decide ?
Again , we fall in a grey zone where there are no right or wrongs...
I wrote this because we too practised this charade .
ReplyDeleteEvery time we went to china , the officer on board who deals with the people would groan that all chinese are alike and he found it hard to differentiate.
The same thing when we went to japan , malaysia or indonesia.
The problem was indifference. And gross generalisation.
(all chinise eat snakes and roaches , he used to say)
I dont about other cultures , but do they exclaim that all indians look alike and it is confusing ?We are surely known for our curries and chutneys, if not for stealing jobs from Usa and Uk.
But there lies the problem. We human beings have taught ourselves over the ages "If they aren't like us , we hate them"
The problem lies with us.and perhaps we can be the soultion , by acknowledging the individuality of every single person...and not bunching people into groups like indians ,pakis , chinese and so on..
^_^ that guy used to be around our place. maybe i bumped into him unknowingly. ho ho ho.
ReplyDeletecool, Tell him were fans next time u bump into him !
